The Cartoonists of Color and Queer Cartoonists databases were created and are currently maintained by cartoonist MariNaomi as a way to spotlight marginalized comics creators. The databases are used by booksellers, librarians, academics, editors, book publishers, event organizers, readers, and more.

Cameron Decker is the web developer for the databases.
The Cartoonists of Color and Queer Cartoonists databases are currently hosted by the fine folks at Hiveworks.
The databases are two of the first sites I visit when I’m planning new exhibitions and programming. These are such great resources for artists and educators!
I find it really useful as a jumping off point, so often you are looking at a topic and know there are more diverse creators but you just don't have them top of mind, then you go down different paths as you get interested in someone's work, see who they follow, etc.
I'm so grateful to MariNaomi for creating databases of Cartoonists of Color and Queer Cartoonists. I use them often. And now there's never, ever, any excuse for a comics panel consisting of only het white boys.
I use the databases as a resource for my class!
I've used the databases to find QPOC panelists!
I received an opportunity for a regular, paid comics gig, and the database was their referral.
[We] took FULL advantage of both databases to fill out the [Takei anthology] roster!
I review webcomics. When people list their links, it's easy to explore and discover new artists.
I've been offered several freelance jobs, thanks to folks finding me on the database.
